Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) is the only regional trade and investment promotion agency in the CARIFORUM. Caribbean Export promotes the Caribbean region as a prime destination for intra and extra-regional trade and investment as well as offer support to the development of vibrant Caribbean business networks.

For the past 15 years, Caribbean Export has participated in the New York City Fancy Food Show so as to aid Caribbean food and beverage companies trying to tap into the US market. In 2006, the Show Coordinator, Sam Kruiner, came to Gail’s Graphic Designs looking for a complete overhaul of the existing Caribbean Export Fancy Food Show marketing efforts. Sam was looking for increased company exposure and updated marketing collateral for the New York event as well as ongoing marketing consultation.

Solution
Gail’s Graphic Designs’ plan included printed marketing collateral, dynamic marketing techniques and a strong e-mail marketing campaign. Once the design was completed, a very aggressive e-marketing campaign began including submitting event links to several New York City and Caribbean related media and social directories.

Results
Since 2006, Caribbean Export has seen a tremendous growth in the Fancy Food Show booth foot traffic as well as website visits. This is due in part to the “guerrilla marketing” techniques employed by Gail’s Graphic Designs.

Sam explains, “It is my belief that marketing, promotion and graphic design has risen to a level of sophistication far greater than a relatively small company can possibly hope to attain alone in-house.
